We were incredibly proud to be named a finalist at The Greats Gift Retailer Awards 2026 in the Best In-Store or Window Display category - and delighted to share the story behind our Christmas windows with Progressive Gifts & Home magazine.
Our Christmas windows are one of the biggest creative projects in the Cornucopia calendar. The planning begins much earlier than most people would imagine, with ideas often being discussed at the very start of the year. Inspiration can come from anywhere - interiors, fashion, theatre sets, colour trends, our travels or sometimes one tiny detail that sparks the idea for an entire display.
With five large windows to transform, there is a lot to consider. Each window needs to feel special in its own right while still forming part of one magical Christmas story. We love the traditional, nostalgic feeling of the season, but always give it a distinctive Cornucopia twist.
A huge amount of care goes into every detail. Many of our props are designed and made by us, which helps make each display completely unique. We never want our windows to feel as though they have simply been filled with Christmas stock. Instead, every product is carefully worked into the scene so that it feels like a natural part of the story.
Lighting also plays an important role. We think about how the windows will look during the day and how they will glow once darkness falls and the Christmas lights come on in Worcester. We want people to stop, look a little closer and notice something new each time they pass.
Even after the windows have been unveiled, they are never truly finished! As products sell, new deliveries arrive and little gaps begin to appear, we constantly adjust and refresh the displays throughout the season.
Over the years, our Christmas windows have become a much-loved tradition for both us and our customers. Seeing people pause outside, point out their favourite details and wonder what they might discover inside makes every hour of planning, prop-making and installation worthwhile.
We’re so pleased that Progressive Gifts & Home chose to shine a spotlight on the creativity, teamwork and care that go into bringing a Cornucopia Christmas to life.
